Professional Profile
Irene is experienced in a wide range of civil litigation including contractual and shareholders’ disputes, contentious probate, family disputes and winding up proceedings. She also deals with industrial summonses and assists clients in compliance with suspension notices.
Irene also advises insurer clients extensively on interpretation of policy wordings and coverage and handles insurance related litigation and arbitration relating to personal injuries, Employees’ Compensation, crew claims, third party motor vehicles policies, contractors’ all risks insurance policies and property damage claims.
Apart from contentious matters, Irene regularly advises corporates, education institutes and NGOs on all aspects of their business and operations including employment matters, data privacy, intellectual property, regulatory matters and drafting a diverse range of commercial contracts and legal documentations for effective corporate structures.
Irene also frequently acts for private clients and professional clients in wealth planning and non-contentious probate matters such as estate succession for the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and international clients (the US, the UK, Japan, Singapore etc.) and as professionally appointed estate administratrix. She also advises on mentally incapacitated persons enquiry proceedings.
